For more than 40 years, the Georgia Orient has worked to serve local communities via student scholarships and its RiteCare program. To date, $2.4 million has been donated to deserving scholars, and our RiteCare clinics serve approximately 1,400 children with language disabilities each year. Our Valleys are our “boots on the ground” to identify needs, raise and distribute funds and administer the programs that are shining light in Georgia communities.

The Valley of Atlanta serves the Northeast area of our Orient, which has three RiteCare centers providing services to children with communication disabilities. The clinics are located at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Clear Speech, LLC in Conyers and the Community Care Clinic at the University of West Georgia. A remote clinic in Heard County was recently reopened thanks to the Valley’s fundraising efforts. The Valley subsidizes patient visits to allow families with limited means to benefit from RiteCare services. The clinics give University of West Georgia students the opportunity to train on their journey to become certified clinicians.

Even with health insurance coverage, parents are often faced with expensive co-pays for therapy sessions, augmented devices which are classified as durable medical equipment by insurance companies and software for the devices. These devices, along with the software, are used to teach non-verbal children to construct simple sentences via pictures. The Valley assists parents in providing these life-changing services for their children.
